Maybe it’s just me, but is there more than a touch of irony in a limited-edition driver collaboration with a brand whose entire being is dedicated to those who love the woods?
I think it will depend on the type of woods we are talking about: the metal type used to hit the golf balls or the type of woods you are looking for those golf balls.
All jokes aside, this new one COBRA x Realtree Limited Edition The OPTM driver knocks it right into the lumber yard for all of us outdoor enthusiasts.
COBRA x Realtree Driver: Prime OPTM
This is it COBRA Third Limited Edition driver drop this month. We’ve already seen the annual Arnold Palmer/Bay Hill model as well as the now traditional COBRA x Palm Tree Crew Colab. This new collaboration with Realtree follows the same plan, featuring the new COBRA OPTM X driver, all dressed up just enough to be stealthy, but with just the right amount of orange to avoid being mistaken for deer.
“The OPTM X driver is built for precision and performance,” says COBRA VP of Product Architecture Jose Miraflow. “Now features Realtree’s iconic camo pattern for players who love the woods but prefer to keep their golf balls away from them.”
I’m glad Jose made that joke. Now I don’t need it.
Remember, these are for fun
Limited edition releases and collaborations like this are all for fun. There is nothing different about the club itself apart from the outerwear. COBRA is a master in these limited editions. Speaking of which, we can only hope that the Realtree collaboration doesn’t rule out an Augusta/Masters-themed driver. This is usually when COBRA give us a masterpiece.
We can expect a limited edition collaboration with Volition America sometime in May. COBRA also offers a range of fun and first class covers throughout the year. They usually focus on diplomas (last year PGA Championship Edition it was spectacular). Sometimes, it is unconventional, such as last year’s collaboration with Chipotle.
The COBRA x Realtree Limited Edition OPTM X driver only comes in a 10.5-degree, right-handed head. It includes a limited edition headstock and comes with a Mitsubishi 1k Tensei Black shaft.
