Elina Svitolina has closed the curtain in its 2025 campaign.
Mentioning the need to replenish mentally and emotionally and recover her competitive identity, Svitolina says she will not play again this season.

“I haven’t felt like myself lately. I’m not in the right emotional space and I don’t feel ready to play, so I’m finishing the season here,” Svitolina posted on Instagram.
“Over the years, I have learned that this sport has nothing to do with money, fame or ranking – it’s to be ready to fight and give everything.
“Not every day should be productive, strong or full of energy. Some days are heavy – and that doesn’t make me weak. It just means I’m human and I need time to rest, feel, breathe and be simply.”
31-year-old Svitolina, who fell to Anna Bondar in the first round of US Open after leaning to Barbora Prekikova in the first round of Cincinnati, suffered a three-hearted loss to Jasmine Paolini in Billie King Cup Play last weekend. Svitolina was within two Ukrainian sending matches to the final before falling to Paolini.
World no. 13 Svitolina posted a 35-14 record in 2025, including the ROEE title win at Red Clay last April.
