Newla Chepkiru and Alexander Mutison have won in Newcastle, and Ben Conn has led the British men’s field
Newcastle streets were dry and clear for the large period of this year (September 7). But despite improved weather, runners were still challenging. A stubborn headscarf that spilled in most of the half marathon course makes it almost impossible.
Still hard conditions did little to moisturize the day, as several elites were held on the route of the city center to the south of the city.

“These women are really strong at a marathon distance, so I think my next step is to decide how I think I’m thinking too far.”
Emily Sisson (70:17) from the United States and Mitce Ozaki (72:53), respectively, gathered the top five respectively. For the leader in Britain, it was Jen’s Nesbit (74:21) and Naomi Robinson (74:55) who finished in the top three.
