Edwin de Los Santos says he believes Keyhawn Davis has already decided to get out of their fight through the last press conference last Thursday when he moved him. He says he thinks Keyshawn (13-0, 9 COs) hoped he would retaliate with a blow, which would have resulted in the fight being canceled.
De Los Santos believes that Davis lost his courage at the last moment and was looking for ways to get out of it. The first method was to start a suppression at the weigh -in. When it failed, Keyshawn came in overweight.
Weight Miss: Davis’s plan?
The fight was eventually turned off after Davis, 27, missed weight, and it has 4.3 pounds over the lightweight limit at 139.3 pounds at the weigh -in. He did not want to try to lose the weight within the time he gained, saying that he would “outgrow the lightweight section”.

It is unlikely that the battle would have been turned off if De Los Santos Keyshawn slapped. However, it is possible that there would have been something by Davis, which may have led to cancellation if De Los Santos was cut by a punch.
De Los Santos offered a big step in the class for Keyshawn of the fighters he recently faced. Since Davis’ fight against Nahir Albright in 2023, which some fans feel he has lost, he has fought a soft opposition. In Keyshawn’s battles since the Albright competition, he has beaten these fighters:
-Inys Berinchyk: A Undermate 135 Pounds
-Gustavo Lemos: From the division of 140 pounds deducted
– Miguel Madueno: Fringe Contender
-Jose Pedraza: past his best, 36-year-old former 130-pound champion
Keyshawn looked fresh to weigh-in
“He looked well and could do it (made weight), but he did what he had to do to get the benefit. If you look at his body, he looks like he has trained, but did not do the job to cut the eight, ‘says De Los Santos.
Keyshawn did not seem to have been through the drainage process to draw the extra weight. He appeared fresh, well blown out and did not have the worn -out appearance that fighters have if they place themselves through torture to make weight.
“I believe he did not want to agree on the rehydration clause and the dollar per pound (punishment) that he (Keyshawn) did not want to agree on the struggle to still happen,” De Los Santos said.
