The self-titled “King of New York,” Edgar Berlanga, will defend his throne tonight against Hamzah Sheeraz in a fight on 168 in Queens. Berlanga (23-1, 18) insists that he will not have the foreign invasive, Sheeraz (21-0-1, 17 COs) defeated on his home field in front of his fans at Louis Armstrong Stadium.
Surprisingly, it is a WBC Super -Mid -weight title -Liminator rather than just an ordinary struggle. Berlanga should fight against one of these guys:
– Osley Iglesias
– Christian Milli
– Diego Pacheco
The three deserve more to fight in a title -eliminator than sheeraz. However, Berlanga’s chances of beating one of the three would be slim. They are all better fighters than he is, and will probably beat Edgar more decisively than Canelo Alvarez did.
Sheeraz’s debut of 168 lb section
Sheeraz is a newcomer in the 168-pound division and none of the top wagers in the weight class. He failed his way to this main assignment event by fighting to a controversial 12-draw against WBC middleweight champion Carlos Adames in February in Riyadh. The battle showed that Hamzah did not have the talent to be a world champion at 160.
“Berlanga has not won any world championship and did nothing, and he is now rich after the Canelo fight,” Tim Bradley said channel. “His confidence is at a peak. This is the first person I have ever seen who lost a fight and then had a parade. It’s strange to me. This (the loss) motivated him. He speaks invincible and great stuff. He will support it better. Get this guy from here. ‘
Boxing’s unfair title opportunities
Berlanga probably celebrates the $ 10 million he got for the Canelo match; Hence the march in Puerto Rico revealed in his newfound wealth. He was given the opportunity to fight for the title without beating a high -level contender. It was the disappointing part, and it should never have happened if boxing was managed like other sports.
