After three transfer windows without much business, Newcastle is expected to spend a lot of money in the summer. Several areas have been identified as the needs addressed, with one of the position of the striker.
Alexander Isak has been strongly linked to a Newcastle distance in the summer, with Arsenal and Liverpool among clubs interested in Swedish superstar. But Carabao Cup winners expect him to stay, and his intention is to sign someone to compete next to him, replacing Callum Wilson.
There have been several forwards who have been related to a transfer to Newcastle in the summer, but the most specific option at this stage seems like Liam Delap. And there have been positive developments on this front in recent weeks.
Newcastle Hold Talks with Liam Delap and his representatives

As reported TeamtalkNewcastle has recently maintained “very positive” debates with Delap representatives, as they intensify their interest in the Ipswich striker. The report also confirmed that manager Eddie Howe has talked personally with the player to make clear the club’s interest.
Delap is almost certainly in motion this summer, with its launch clause of £ 30 million, which is probably activated by several clubs. The tastes of Man UnitedChelsea and Everton have an interest in signing it, but in this phase, Newcastle seems to have advanced to the best of an agreement.
It is left to see if Newcastle manages to complete Delap’s signature this summer, but there is no doubt that it would be an excellent incorporation into its workforce, as well as a clear update to Wilson. But for the moment, there is a lot of work to do, and the clubs’ interest in being assaulted before anything is over.
