Promoter Eddie Hearn would like to make Shakur Stevenson against Gerrvonta Davis next. Hearn is not sure what is happening to the battle of Tank in August after his recent legal problems. He says if he can’t do the tank, there’s the Andy Cruz against Raymond Muratalla and Abdullah Mason against Sam Noakes winners from which he can opt for Shakur to fight next.
Hearn still has to sign Stevenson, as his contract with 2 battle with Matchroom has expired this past Saturday night against William Zepeda in Queens, New York.
What is Hearn’s plan for Shakur?

Hearn did not get the full value out of the duel agreement with Shakur, due to the fight with Floyd Schofield who advanced last February. If a better fighter was used as a substitute, you could say that Hearn’s two-fold agreement with Shakur was beneficial to his match room business.
How can Shakur unite lightweight?
“I think he should unite the section. Actually, the section develops a bit. Sam Noakes is fighting against Abdullah Mason for the vacant (WBO lightweight) title. Andy Cruz is fighting against Muratalla for the IBF title. There will be a few opportunities that arise there.
Hearn may be going overboard with his praise for Stevenson. Last night’s battle between Stevenson and William Zepeda was one of the most difficult of Stevenson’s career. Even as he ran, he struggled because of Zepeda’s pressure.
It’s easy to look at the fight and accept that it’s going to be much harder for Shakur if he prefers to fight against the top lights, Andy Cruz, Raymond Muratalla or Abdullah Mason. Cruz’s strength, speed and technical ability would be a nightmare for Shakur.

Tank Davis still has a re -broadcast with Lamont Roach to take place on August 16. However, the fight was not officially announced, and people questioned whether it would happen on that date. If delayed, Shakur will have to look in another direction for his next fight. He can’t just wait for Davis.
