Promoter Eddie Hearn mentions four possible options for his fighter, IBF and WBO swelling champion Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis, for his next battle. He says he will meet with Ennis (34-0, 30 COs) next week to talk to him through the options.
Hearn mentions that Ennis has his WBA compulsory defense against Shakhram Giyasov, but he wants to fight against WBO champion Brian Norman Jr. Or the other champion at 147. If he fights one of the two, he can bypass his compulsory Giyasov (17-0, 10). He is probably a more difficult battle for boots than Norman or WBC champion Mario Barrios.
Hearn’s options
– Shakhram Giyasov
– Brian Norman jr.
– Theofimo Lopez
– Rolando ‘Rolly’ Romero
Hearn says Turki Alalshikh wants Ennis to fight against Theofimo Lopez. He likes that fight. TheOFIMO defends its WBO Light Welterweight title against Arnold Barboza jr on May 2. If he loses him, it will probably eliminate him as an option for boots.
Bypass the compulsory?
“Good news, because I think Ryan Garcia beat Rolly Romero. I would very much like to hold the Rolly Romero battle for boots,” Eddie Hearn told the mediaRespond to the WBA the winner of the Ryan Garcia against Rolando ‘Rolly’ Romero Fight and the Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis must fight against Shakhram Giyasov clash. ‘
There is not much interest from fans for a fight between Boots Ennis and Rolly as Romero on May 2, a loss of Ryan. Boots can just as well bite the bullet and get its WBA compulsory commitment to Giyasov rather than defending against Rolly, with a loss.
“I would also say that boots want to face the other champions. We do have the (WBA-ordered) Giyasov issue. I think Boots wants to go out and fight (WBO Welterweight Champion) Brian Norman. I know his excellence (Turki Alalshikh) wants boots to fight against theofimo. ‘
The way Hearn speaks can bynist Ennis its WBA-ordered battle against Giyasov. How he plans to do so has yet to be seen. If Turki Alalshikh is going to be involved, they can pay Giyasov to step aside, through which Ennis can fight theofimo.
A unification with the WBO welterweight champion, Brian Norman Jr. In the end, however, boots will have to defend against Giyasov, as former WBA champion Eimantas Stanionis has already bypassed him.
Incredible position
“Right now, I’m saying that boots are the red -hot man in boxing. The last show (the sixth round TKO of the WBA 147-pound champion Eimantas Stanionis). Everyone knows that this man is the future of boxing.
“So we are in an incredible position, and we will plan accordingly and in the best interests of Jaron Ennis. We will meet next week and talk through the options,” says Hearn.
