On this day on Track & Field-May 23

1942– Mr.Thtudam broke his world record in the polar pad by cleaning 15-7 ¾ (4.77) in the inauguration of “Northern California Relays” in Modesto, California. This will be the latest WREA, which is placed on a bamboo pole and will last Bob Gutovsky in 1957 with an aluminum pole.

The previous official World Record of Warmerdam was 15-5 ¾ (4.72), and later 15-6 7/8 (4.74) was not

ratified for administrative reasons. “Dutch”, initially thought he had cleaned 15-8 in modest, but in recycling, the official accidentally knocked himself 15-7 ¾.

After the event was completed, the fans attacked the field to congratulate the warm and broke the crossroads to take the house pieces as a souvenir.
