With the back-back appearances in the last match of the amateur championship with four US balls in 2022 and 2023, Drew Stoltz know one or two things about How to succeed in match game.

“My number 1 goal is just hit the green, to put pressure on them and then allow them to react to what you are doing,” he said.

The game game differs from the shock game in an important way: you have the opportunity to set the tone, or respond to your opponent’s game. This means that your strategy can evolve from goal to shot.
“I’m usually playing a little of a safer game in the game of match,” Stoltz said. “It may depend on what your opponent has done. If he has already been hit and he is hit there nearby, of course you have to attack the PIN and not play conservatively.”
For Stoltz, having confidence in his devices is essential.
