Some differences between golf bags are subtle. A chain that feels softer. A divider that doesn’t grab you. A pocket that actually holds what it’s supposed to hold.

In this year’s stroller bag test, the results were close. Most of the bags landed within a single point of each other. This means that the small details, especially in storage and organization, are what separate a good buy from a smarter one.
At $199, here’s a bag I’d buy and another I wouldn’t.
Why does this bag fall short?
of Tour Edge Xtreme Lux completed near the lower end of the test. Storage and organization make up nearly half of our points, and that’s where the Xtreme Lux hits the ground running.

- The six-way top divided into four sections was not functional
- Visible entanglement of shaft and handle during testing
- The layout leans more inspired by the stay bag than the purpose-built trolley bag
It has some strong points like waterproof and zippered pockets and two magnetic pockets for quick access. If you’re trying to invest in something that checks all the boxes without breaking the bank, Xtreme Lux it comes out a little short.
For $10 less, you can get it Maxfli Honors Trolley Bag. It scored slightly higher overall than the Tour Edge and performs better in the categories that define a stroller bag. Storage was significantly better along with capacity.
Plus you’ll get a 15-way split top, less overall weight and a large cooler pocket. It’s still a basic layout, and there are no real quick-access magnetic pockets. It has fewer premium features than a $300 golf bag, but is about half the price at $189.
The overall difference in results is small, but the structural difference is not. If you’re going to try to stay under $200 on a tote bag, Dear Maxfli is the best value.
If you can go up a bit in price, the conversation changes entirely. of OGIO Wood finished at the top of the test with an overall score of 9.4. It’s about $100 more, but here’s what you get for that extra money.

When the results are tight, you look at the trade-offs. of Tour Edge Xtreme Lux breaks ground on storage organization and weighing. of Dear Maxfli forego premium touches. of OGIO Wood give up very little.
