MS Dhoni did not find a place for himself Dinesh Karthik‘s all-time Indian XI. However, Dinesh Karthik, on his part, said that it was a blunder on his part and apologized for it.
He did this drill from Cricbuzz last week and forgot to add MS Dhoni to his list. The former goalkeeper surprised the fans with his call. However, in a recent episode of his show, he tried to explain why this happened, saying that it was a mistake on his part and that he forgot to add a goalkeeper while preparing the team.
Karthik said many assumed he had picked Rahul Dravid to be the side’s wicket-keeper. However, the former Indian wicketkeeper has repeatedly apologized for not including MS Dhoni in the XI.

DK further stated that Dhoni is a guaranteed choice in any Indian XI and if he had a chance to do the drill again, he would field Dhoni at number 7 and captain the side.
“And let me be clear. Thala Dhoni is a lock in any format, not just in India. I feel he is one of the greatest cricketers to ever play the game. If I have to rebuild this team, I change one thing. Tala Dhoni in 7 will be. He will captain any Indian team that is there,” Karthik said.
Talking about Dinesh Karthik, he announced his retirement from all forms of cricket after IPL 2024. He cherished his days at RCB and he will join the franchise as a batting coach and mentor starting next season.
Talking about MS Dhoni, if reports are to be believed, CSK are trying to get him to play for one more season, terming him as a loose player. Many sources say that Dhoni will be retained as an open player as he has been retired from international cricket for over five years.
However, there is nothing official about this yet. CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan denied such claims. Meanwhile, the BCCI may bring back the rule that allowed franchises to retain retired international players as deleted players in 2021.
