Dilute the belts: WBC Interim title of 140 pounds for Cruz vs. Salcido has criticized after the recent victory of Matias

Isaac ‘Pitbull’ Cruz’s fight against his deceased substitute opponent, Omar Salcido, will be at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas for the WBC-Tuss-Engineer Welterweight title on Saturday night. Salcido has been moved from the non-television section of Saturday’s map to fight on the main card against Cruz as the substitute opponent.

Unfounded belt for Salcido-Cruz?

The WBC’s decision to sanction this battle for their interim title of 140 pounds is criticized by fans as it doesn’t make sense. Salcido (20-2, 14 CO’s) comes from Andy Cruz, fights against lightweight and moves to light welterweight to replace Angel Fierro, who pulled out of ‘Pitbull’ Cruz’s fight due to a medical emergency.

The 140-pound WBC title for a fight against a replacement opponent is unjustified. Subriel Matias won the WBC title last Saturday night the WBC title of champion Alberto Puello, and he defends it in November against the #1 outdoor Dalton Smith. The WBC, which is at the meantime for the Cruz-Salcido battle, looks just like a money grab.

Diluting belts: Cruz-Salcido Fallout

With the 140-pound WBC title seized by Cruz (27-3-1, 18 COs) and Salcido, the fans confuse, because it diluted the value of the belts. Pitbull is #3 WBC, and Salcido is not at all. It made sense to have the interim title at stake when Cruz #7 WBC Angel fought. But once he was forced to move out because of his emergency, the interim title should not have been available.

It is clear that Cruz and Salcido will not argue against that the WBC -Tussentage title is available for their struggle. Getting their hands on the belt can be extra money because they have a belt that draws attention to the winner.

Earlier today, Cruz weighed 138.8 pounds, and Salcido entered 139.4 pounds on Friday’s weigh -in.
