Diego earned the unanimous decision victory (117-110, 116-111, 115-112); however, the battle was much closer than some of the scorecards reflected. He outscored Sadjo by just 11 total punches (128 to 117) and was less efficient overall, landing 19 percent of his total punches to Kevin’s 27.5 percent connect rate (CompuBox).
Promoter Eddie Hearn told members of the media after the fight that they would try to target a fight with Jaime Munguia in Los Angeles in what would be a Mexican showdown between two popular boxers.
“It’s an honor for me to be named with a great fighter like him. You know it’s a dream come true for me. You know, at this point in my career, it’s the type of fight I miss to solidify my career as a star in the division. I would be very happy to share the ring with him,” said Pacheco about a potential matchup with Munguia.
Both fighters have a following in Southern California, and a bout of this magnitude will put the spotlight on two warriors that will produce an action-packed war that will generate huge fan interest. Munguia has lost 2 of his last 4 fights and needs a great performance to regain the momentum and star power he lost after his losses and the failed PED tests he was eventually cleared of.
Pacheco looks primed and ready to raise the level of competition. If a fight against Munguia does not materialize, Hearn has other viable options, saying he is already in talks with Hamzah Sheeraz’s team.
Shortly after the match, The Ring also reported that Riyadh Season was very interested in promoting a fight between Sheeraz and Pacheco in February 2026. Either game will be a step up for Pacheco, who is looking for a career-defining game to propel him to the top of the division.
Sheeraz is coming off the biggest win of his career, a dominant knockout win against Egar Berlanga. He made quick work of Berlanga, knocking him out in the fifth round on the Ring III main event card.
Both Hamzah and Diego are undefeated, and both are tall, tall fighters who can box or punch it out on the inside. Sheeraz stands 6’3 with an arm reach of 73 inches, while Pacheco is slightly taller at 6’4 and has a longer reach at 79 inches.
Stylistically, this would be a very interesting match. As it is being pursued through the Riyadh season, it could possibly be in negotiations soon as they have shown no problems in finalizing agreements.
