Next to the top of the most delightful things I saw on the PGA show list was the range of toptracer demonstration. I thought all the toptracer -i were to give you very basic startup data and a delightful tracker for each blow.
While my wife likes to say, “wrong again, heart.”
Toptracer, steering technology owned by Topgolf Callaway, actually has some very delightful skills beyond just tracking your shots. It has an aggressive way of playing so your children can play Angry Birds while you are trying to run your slice.
But what is really cute is her classic way of simulating the course.
For example, you can get a fourth together in a range of driving equipped with nearby toptracer and play Pebble Beach.
Or, most important for today’s discussion, the old course in St. Andrews.

Toptracer and old backward course
For the rest of April, you and your friends can go to a toptracer string and play the old course back; towards clock scorpions instead of clock scorpions towards clock scorpions. Would start at the first Tee but you would play at 17Th green instead of first. Then, from 18Th Tee box will play with 16Th Green, etc.
The clear question you need to make yourself is why the hell would anyone want to do it?
The answer is simple. April 6Th through 8ThThe true old course, the one in Scotland, will be decided to play just like him.
Okay, this needs an explanation.
The quick response is that since 2023, St andrews Links Trust has opened a ballot for players to play the old course behind three days in early April. Faith calls it “Old Old Course”. Toptracer, as the official partner of steering technology for the Links Trust, is giving you the opportunity to do the same, only practically. To celebrate and (hopeful) to drive some business in approximately 1,250 strings equipped by toptracer all over the world, toptracer is creating an old simulated course. You can play it starting today by the end of April.
Toptracer is also adding a little action to your virtual round. When playing the inverted old course, you are also competing for the chance to mark time for two in the old inverted course in 2026.

This is part of the reason why the hell someone would like to do it. The rest of the reason is history.
The way the old course was
Playing the old course behind is not just a novelty. HOWN how it was played until Old Tom Morris updated the course in the early 1870s. At the time, the first tee was near the place where 18Th Green is currently, and 17 currentTh Green, the green road hole, was part of a larger shared green. From there, the course played in the direction of the clock.
For a century, starting in 1774 when the course decreased from 22 to 18 standard holes, players played the course in this configuration. Golfists have to share straight roads and hit in large double greens. When played behind, some of the old course bunkers strangely placed suddenly make sense.
After Old Tom updated the old course, he would still be played in occasional configuration in the 1970s. In 2024, St andrews Links Trust made the old course overturned an annual event and imposed a global vote for players to apply for all time.
Toptracer officially partnership with St andrews Links in 2022, placing toptracer Bays in Facility Practices and St. Andrews Links Academy Golf. As part of this partnership, toptracer is the only platform where you can practically play the old course in a range of direction. In 2024, more than 700,000 old simulated rounds were played in toptracer sites around the world.
About that competition…
You better bring your game or if you want to win those times tee. The inverted old course is a direct game of the Gross Results by The Black Tees. There is no handicap and, most importantly, no mills. Just like real life in a simulated world: anyone who shoots the lowest victory of the gross score.
There are some guards in place. The maximum result in each hole is five strokes on everything that is for a specified hole. In the event of a tie, the winner will be anyone who first posted the lowest result. Mimi includes only Times Times. If you win, you will need to get yourself in St andrews, find a place to stay and feed yourself. The only freebie is the couple of tee times.
