Indian National Cricket Team head coach Gautam Gambhir is undergoing a major scan after the team’s poor performances in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. According to reports in Cricbuzz, it is learned that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will hold discussions with the coach after the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25.
Ever since Gambhir was appointed as the head coach of the Indian National Cricket Team, things have not been going well for the Team. For the first time ever, the Rohit Sharma-led side faced a home tear in Tests as they were on the receiving end of a 3-0 defeat against New Zealand recently.

India opted to play three all-rounders and dropped Shubman Gill during the fourth Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. It also saw Gautam Gambhir getting a lot of injuries as he bowled the batter, the second leading run-getter for the Indian team in Tests.

Reports have claimed that the head coach has no role in this as the two have a lot of mutual respect, but he may be asked to formally take the matter up with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) at some point.
Gambhir reportedly did not engage in discussions with selectors on selection issues – something his predecessor Rahul Dravid did during his tenure. This has put the current Indian coach under a huge scanner for his misdeeds.
