But with various speculations about player retention, Devon Conway has given a big hint about his future with Chennai Super Kings. During the ongoing first test between Sri Lanka and New Zealand, the Kiwi player was asked by a fan if he would play for the franchise next year.
The star-studded New Zealander responded with a one-word “Hopefully”. There are several reports that the franchises will be allowed to retain 6 players before the auction and the team will also receive an RTM. Therefore, it is likely to be retained.
During today’s test match between Sri Lanka and New Zealand, Devon Conway was asked by a fan if he would play for CSK next year and he said “hopefully”.
“Are you playing for Chennai next year?”
Conway: “I hope so.”

Devon Conway became a part of Chennai Super Kings in the IPL 2022 mega auction and has been a consistent hitter for the team in the league ever since. He played 7 matches in his first season and scored 252 runs including three half centuries.
Devon Conway was the main reason Chennai Super Kings won the Indian Premier League 2023 under MS Dhoni. He formed a formidable opening partnership with Ruturaj Gaikwad as the duo helped the team win their 5th title in the league.
Conway finished the season with 672 runs in 16 matches and an average of 51.69 and a strike rate of 139.71. He also came up with a brutal knock that helped Chennai Super Kings chase down the big target against Gujarat Titans in the final.
