Coach Abel Sanchez says Devin Haney has the more difficult battle than Ryan Garcia for the fatal Fury event on May 2, against Jose Ramirez. Ryan is fighting against Rolando ‘Rolly Romero (16-2, 13 COs).
Haney’s test
Sanchez says the former WBC and WBO Light Welterweight Champion Ramirez (29-2, 18 COs) will show what Haney (31-0, 15 COs) are “out). Abel says this battle will show or Devin belong there at Gervonta Davis and Shakur Stevenson.
No one compared Haney to one of the guys, because he struggles before his loss against Ryan in April. Haney had major problems with his fights with Jorge Linares, Vasily Lomachenko and Alfredo Santiago. Devin’s problems are expected to get worse now that he is fighting at 147 against guys who can hit.
Ryan has exposed Haney as a hype course, and now Ramirez is going to sement the face by completing him on May 2. Since it is a mini tournament, Haney will be eliminated and he will not fight against Ryan in October. It is unclear who Kingry’s opponent will be, but I would suggest that WBO champion Brian Norman Jr.
Former two divisions world champion Haney’s fame was built around him to become an undisputed champion at lightweight, and he did so by George Kambosos Jr. Besides beating, otherwise Devin has no victories over credible opposition. He eliminated a career from the fact that he beat the little “Emperor” of Australia twice and won a controversial decision on Lomachenko.
Haney vs. Ramirez. I think (Ryan) Garcia Stop Rolly somewhere around the seventh or eighth round, ”coach Abel Sanchez said Fight Hub TV When asked who would have the harder time between Ryan Garcia and Devin Haney with their respective fights on May 2 on the Fatal Fury card against Rolando ‘Rolly’ Romero and Jose Ramirez at Times Square in New York.
Top level?
“I think the Haney fight is a tough fight. We are really going to see what Haney was made of, because Ramirez is going to give him a difficult time. Robert (Garcia), his coach, will compile a game plan as he did for (Arnold) Barboza who will make it for Haney. We’re going to see if Haney belongs at that top level, and talk about Shakur and Gervonta and all the guys.
“It depends on what Haney looks like in his next fight,” Abel said when asked who was winning the re -broadcast between Ryan Garcia and Haney. “If he suddenly shows that he is there, it is a difficult battle for Garcia, because he will be smarter, Haney will,” says Sanchez.
