Bill Haney says his son, Devin, will awaken the 147 pound division, just as he did at lightweight and light welter weight. Haney (31-0, 15 COs) could fall apart in his next battle against Jose Ramirez in May before even cutting his teeth at 147.

Devin’s fight against the former WBC and WBO Light Welterweight Champion Ramirez (29-2, 18 food) is a setup to prepare him for a re-broadcast with Ryan Garcia in October. Haney has to get past Ramirez, 32, to create interest in the rematch.

Bill is right that the re -broadcast is worth more due to the loss of Devin. If he expected Kingry like many, a second fight would be useless, especially if the victory was one -sided like Haney’s victories over George Kambosos Jr. And Regis Prograis. It worked in Devin’s favor to lose in April last year.
Haney has confused himself by not staying active in the last ten months since the defeat, because he could have fought twice and earned millions. For the former World Champion of two divisions, Haney, he put on the shelf on a lack of confidence and reluctance to risk the mega money he can make with Ryan.
