David benavidez rejects Callum Smith interim battle, claim WBC title shot

David Banavidez says he certainly beat the winner of the Dmitri Bivol- against Artur Betterbiev trilogy match. Benavidez (30-0, 24 CO’s) is the compulsory WBC for the Belt Undisputed Light Heavyweight Champion Bivol (24-1, 12 food).

Smith offer rejected

Banavidez’s promoter, Sampson Lewkowicz, says an offer was made for benavidez to defend his WBC interim light heavyweight title. Callum Smith. Lewkowicz says he is not interested in that fight and just wants Benavidez to fight for the WBC belt against BiVol next. The WBC ordered the battle with a deadline of April 8.

Lewkowicz and Banavidez will not take an interim battle to allow Bisvolt to keep artificial to his WBC, so that he can go better in his trilogy match against Artur as the undisputed light heavyweight champion. BIVOL have to fight benavidez or give up his WBC belt.

“Right now, the only thing he (benavidez) thinks that the WBC is the formal regular champion,” Lewkowicz said Sean Zittel about ‘the Mexican sample’ that just wants to challenge the WBC belt next.

‘So, we won’t take the specific battle for the interim (Callum Smith), and we expect on April 8 to make a decision if he (Dmitry Biblical) wants to lose the title or be stripped. This is what Mauricio Sulaiman, the president of the WBC, is no longer. The WBC in the meantime at 168 and never got the chance to challenge Canelo. He was ignored.

The Bivol-Benavidez battle has already been ordered by the World Boxing Council. Biblical may need to evacuate his belt if he goes through his plans to resist Artur (21-1, 20 COs) in a trilogy.

Benavidez’s vision
