The Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the New York Mets in Game 6 of the National League Championship Series to advance to the World Series.
The Dodgers are making their first World Series appearance since winning the title in the shortened 2020 season.
In all four of their 2024 NLCS wins, the Dodgers offense has scored at least eight runs.
Los Angeles manager Dave Roberts shared his thoughts after ending the series at Dodger Stadium.
“I’m very excited right now, we’re close to getting the job done and I’m so proud of our guys,” Roberts said via SiriusXM’s MLB Network Radio.

He also mentioned the difficulties the team had this season.
Injuries to their starting rotation, including stars Tyler Glasnow and Clayton Kershaw, have been a big problem.
When healthy, they’re probably the Dodgers’ best two pitchers, and they’ve been without them all postseason.
Roberts briefly described all the pitchers they had to use and the strategy used to deploy them at the right time.
Injuries to Glasnow and Kershaw seem to have forced Roberts to use the bullpen more than he normally would.
Roberts has managed the Dodgers since 2016 and has won four National League titles in those nine seasons.
He will lead off the Dodgers against the New York Yankees in the World Series starting with Games 1 and 2 in Los Angeles.
