The Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the New York Mets again in Game 4 of the National League Championship Series on Wednesday.
With a final score of ten-two, the Dodgers have now scored eight or more runs in three of the four games so far in the NLCS.
The Dodgers will take a three-to-one series lead into Friday’s fifth game with a chance to clinch a berth in the World Series.
According to USA Today’s Bob Nightengale on the “X,” Dodgers manager Dave Roberts says this team is playing as well as any team he’s had since joining the club.
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts says the Dodgers are playing as well as any team he’s had since joining the Dodgers.
“It’s hard to remember a team playing better team baseball,” Roberts said.— Bob Nightengale (@BNightengale) October 18, 2024
Roberts has managed the Dodgers since 2016, which includes two National League titles and a World Series title in 2020.
For him to say this team is playing the best baseball he’s seen since joining the club is saying something.
The Dodgers haven’t made the World Series since winning the 2020 World Series and are one win away from making another appearance.
Friday’s Game 5 will likely pit Dodgers ace pitcher Jack Flaherty against Mets’ David Peterson.
Flaherty pitched in series one where he threw seven innings and allowed two hits, zero earned runs, walked two and struck out six while earning the win.
If Flaherty can replicate that performance on Friday, the Dodgers appear to have a good chance of making it to the World Series.
The Dodgers are seeking their eighth World Series title in franchise history.
