Eddie Hearn was transferred over his fighter, Dave Allen, and went his heavyweight collision in the main event against Arslanbek Makhmudov in 10 days on October 11 at Dazn of the Sheffield Arena in Sheffield, England.
Hearn sets Wilder Route
Matchroom promoter Hearn wants a fight between Allen (24-7-2, 19 COs) and former heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder if he goes well against Makhmudov (20-2, 19 COs).
This is going to be difficult, as it has been by far the best opponent Allen, 33, since his seventh round loss of Luis Ortiz on December 10, 2016. The past nine years have all been fighting many British fighters and a few from other countries. No one you can call a good fighter.
Allen arrives in London on May 17, 2025 in a big knockout victory in the fifth round over Johnny Fisher. He overwhelmed Fisher and dropped him twice in the fifth round, asking his coach to throw in the towel.

Wilder’s falling power
The 39-year-old Wilder (44-4-1, 43 COs) is not much of a step at this point in his career. Wilder has lost four out of his last six fights since 2020, and the big right hand that once defined him is now gone.
Makhmudov the mountain
He no longer arouses power by hand due to a shoulder problem. He does not have a good setback option to sponsor him against anyone, not even all. Hearn did not say what he wanted to do with Allen if he defeated Makhmudov and Wilder in back-to-back fighting. If he planned something big, such as fiting Allen against Anthony Joshua, it would be interesting.
“Let’s see what happens on October 11. A massive night for Dave Allen. If he does the job, he’s going to walk in a massive fight,” says Hearn.
Wilder’s fights are no longer considered ‘massive’ in the US, but in the UK it is still a big name. It would not be a PPV-worthy battle, Allen against Wilder, but it would not be surprising if this is where Hearn puts it.
Allen’s biggest test yet
