Danny Garcia’s return: ‘Swift’ eyes a Comeback battle on October 18 in Barclays Center

Danny Garcia will be in the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, on October 18 against an even set opponent at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

Hopefully, for Garcia’s sake, he stands in front of someone outside the top level in the junior middleweight division. He does not seem able to hit one of the contenders at his age at age.

Garcia’s battle after Lara loss

This will be the first battle for the 37-year-old former world champion ‘Swift’ of two divisions ‘Swift’ (37-4, 21 COs) in more than a year since being stopped by WBA middleweight champion Erislandy Lara on September 14, 2024.

Danny looked like he didn’t belong with Lara in the ring. Garcia did not fight over two years. It was a wrong idea to challenge a talented fighter like Erislandy after that long dismissal.

“Danny García will return to the boxing ring in the main meeting of his own box card on October 18 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York,” per Brunch box on X. “The top rankings offer fighters to fill the October 18 card. The plan is to keep their fighters active while working to secure a new platform.”

Fans see no point in Garcia who continues to fight for the way he acted against Lara. It was Danny’s second defeat in his last three fights, and he looked like the shell of the fighter he was in 2017, when he lost his WBC Welterweight title to Keith Thurman through a 12 round. The fight took a lot out of both fighters.

Danny’s return: a question

The 18-year-old professional Garcia is too small to fight at 154. His best weight class was at 140, but it may be too difficult for him to come back to the division at his age. Even if he did, the competition is too good for him at his age. Even if Danny was in his lead, he would have major problems against fighters such as Gary Antuanne Russell, Richardson Hitchins, Theofimo Lopez and Subriel Matias.
