Andy Bara, the agent of Barcelona star Dani Olmo, has dealt a major blow to Arsenal’s hopes of signing the midfielder in the January transfer window.
Arsenal have been linked with a move for Olmo in recent weeks, as the Gunners look to pounce on their unusual situation in Barcelona. Man United have also shown interest in the player.
The Spanish star arrived at the Catalan club during the summer as part of a Offer of 60 million euros with RB Leipzig after impressing the world en route to winning Euro 2024 with Spain in the summer, however, Barca needed creative ways to sign the player to La Liga.
Looking ahead to January, Olmo will not be able to play for Barcelona during the second half of the campaign because he does not have the funds to register the midfielder.
The La Liga giants have received two appeals Court of First Instance (the court of inquiry) during the last few weeks. This means that Olmo can leave Barca in January from now, although the Catalan side may have found a way to sign the 26-year-old.

In addition, Olmo’s agent has stated that the player hopes to remain at Barcelona, despite the Spanish club’s distant ties.

talking with Fabrizio RomanoOlmo’s agent, Andy Bara, has stated about the midfielder’s future: “Dani’s decision is to stay at Barcelona because he wants to play for Barça.
“We are not considering any other option,” said the agent. “Dani wants to play for Barcelona.”
The chances of Arsenal signing the Euro 2024 winner were slim, but if they had picked up the Spain star, it would have been a huge coup for Mikel Arteta heading into the second half of the 2024/25 campaign.
