Dalton Smith dominates Germain with multiple knockouts, Warrington and Padley safe victories


WBC Silver Light Welterweight Champion Dalton ‘Thunder’ Smith (18-0, 13 food) defeated Mattieu ‘Gym’ Germain (26-3-1, 11 COs) with a unanimous 12 round decision, with three knockouts over his smaller opponent Saturday night in the Park Community Arena, in Sheffield, England.

In the final seconds of the second round, Smith’s left hook dropped Germain’s Ken Germain for an 8 scores by referee Victor Loughlin. Smith looks significantly larger than Germain. Thirty seconds in the eleventh round dropped a right of Smith on the Ken Germain for an 8 scores of referee Loughlin. Midway landed Smith a low blow and dropped Germain, which cost him a point of referee Loughlin.

In the twelfth and final round, with forty seconds left, a left hook from Smith Germain dropped for another 8 scores of referee Loughlin.

The scores were 119-105 twice and 117-107.

Super Welterweight Ryan Kelly, 19-6-1 (8), lost a 10-round majority decision to Caoimhin Agyarko, 17-0 (7). In the first four rounds, Agyarko had a slight lead. In the fifth round, Kelly sustained a cut to the left eyebrow. From the seventh to the tithing, Kelley returned well, but not enough to win the decision.

The scores were 97-94, 96-94 and 95-95. Victor Loughlin was the referee.

Former IBF Reather champion Josh ‘The Leeds Warrior’ Warrington, 32-4-1 (8), defeated Asad Asif Khan, 19-7-1 (5), with a unanimous decision of 10 round.

In the first four rounds, Warrington dominated. In the fifth round, Warrington landed a shot that cut Khan’s left eyebrow. In the first minute of the sixth round, Warrington landed a right on the chin, along with a pressure, and Khan drove to the canvas for an 8 scores of referee Mark Lyson.

A minute later, Lyson took away a point of Khan for taking out his mouthpiece. The rest of the road dominated Warrington with good body work.

The scores were 99-89, 97-91 and 99-90.

Lightweight Josh ‘Paddy’ Padley, 16-1 (5) stopped Southpaw Marko Cvetanovic, 13-1 (6), at 1:13 of the fifth of a scheduled 10 rounds.

In the fifth round’s first minute, half a dozen body shots of Padley Cvetanovic dropped for an 8 counts of referee Steve Gray. Shortly later, Padley again dropped Cvetanovic with a wave. He hit the score, but referee Gray wisely brought a standby.

Super featherweight Giorgio Visioli, 7-0 (6), stopped Kane Baker, 19-12-2 (1), at 0:52 of the fourth of a scheduled eight rounds.

In the fourth round, Visioli dropped Baker with a combination for an 8 scores. When he got up, referee John Latham blew it off.

Lightweight Joe Howarth, 12-1 (4), dominated in the defeat of Mario vanenzuela Portillo, 8-7-2 (2), decided by a six-round.

The score was 60-54.

The middleweight Emmanual ‘Leli’ buttigieg, 8-0 (2), knocked out Grant Dennis, 19-11 (3), at 2:19 of the fifth of a scheduled six rounds.

In the fifth round, a left to the body of Buttigiegiegiegie Dennis dropped for the spade of referee Steve Gray.
