While these two players are lesser known around the league, they are both former top-100 prospects and will look to make a name for themselves on their new teams.
Mervis is 26 years old and entered the majors in 2023 with the Cubs, where he has played both seasons of his MLB career.
In 2024, Mervis played in nine games where he hit .115 with zero home runs, three RBIs and a .302 OPS.
Brujan is also 26 years old and entered the league in 2021 with the Tampa Bay Rays, where he played for three seasons before going to the Marlins in 2024.
With the Marlins in 2024, Brujean appeared in 102 games, batting .222 with two home runs, 16 RBIs and a .622 OPS.
While none of these players had particularly good seasons last year, they are still young and have the potential to have breakout seasons in 2025.
It will be interesting to see how these two players perform for their new teams in 2025.
