Talking about the SMAT match, Karnataka won the toss and decided to bat first against the Krunal Pandya-led Baroda team in Indore. However, the call was not right as their opener Manish Pandey (10) and skipper Mayank Agarwal (1) fell cheaply to Atit Seth and Krunal respectively.

Later, Karnataka wicketkeeper KL Srijith hit three sixes off 9 balls for 22 runs before being run out by Shashwat Rawat. However, against Baroda, Karnataka managed to post a respectable target of 169/8 on the board thanks to valuable contributions from Smaran Ravichandran (38) and Abhinav Manohar (56*).
