
In a deeply personal statement, Chennai Super Kings‘ newest recruitment Rahul Chahar confirmed that he has separated from his wife Ishani JoharAfter more than three and a half years, they officially end their marriage. The 26-year-old leg-spinner shared the news in a detailed social media post on Friday, February 20, announcing that the legal proceedings had concluded and the matter had been settled.
Chahar and Johar tied the knot on March 9, 2022 in a private ceremony in Goa, marking the beginning of a journey that the cricketer described as a transformative chapter in his life.

In her statement, Chahar candidly reflected on her first decision to get married and the lessons that followed. He admitted that he got married at a young age without fully understanding himself and the life he wanted to build.
“I entered into marriage at a young age without fully understanding myself, my worth, or the life I truly wanted to build. What followed were lessons I never expected, and the last fifteen months have been spent walking through courtrooms, learning patience, resilience, and the power that comes from truth.” Chahar wrote in his post on the social network.
Eyiriji later announced that the trial was over. “After due legal process, the matter was resolved in a very costly decision, ending this phase of my life. I close this chapter not with anger or regret, but with clarity,” he added.
Chahar emphasized that he is moving forward with a renewed sense of self-awareness and purpose. She described the relationship as one that awakened and transformed her, even if it didn’t last forever.

Focus shifts to IPL 2026 with Chennai Super Kings
Chahar, who has entered a new phase in his personal life, is going to focus on cricket for the 2026 season. Indian Premier League (IPL) is approaching. The tournament is expected to be held between March and May.
Chahar will wear the iconic yellow jersey after being bought by CSK for INR 5.20 crore in the IPL 2026 mini-auction. Interestingly, he remained unsold before the franchise secured him in an accelerated round. He was released by Sunrisers Hyderabad ahead of the auction.
Over the years, the leg-breaking bowler has represented Rising Pune Supergiant, Mumbai Indians, Punjab Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL. In 79 matches, Chahar took 75 wickets at an average of 28.66 and showed the ability to strike at crucial moments in the middle innings.
