Former Australian and Chennai Super Kings shortstop Michael Husey made a bold remark about Indian legend Sachin Tendulkar during the three-match series between the two teams. Husey had started his international career with a joke, surpassing Sachin’s run of 5000 runs.
Hüseyin had to wait until he was 28 to make his international debut. The southpaw has done a truck load in domestic cricket to earn his spot for Australia and become one of the team’s most consistent performers.
In 2006 and 2009, he played a starring role in Australia’s 2007 ODI World Cup win and two Champions Trophy victories and two Champions Trophy double centuries.

Speaking on the cricketer’s YouTube channel, Michael Hüsey said he would be on top of Sachin Tendulkar and led in centuries, Ashes wins and World Cup wins. However, this was only a dream, a delayed opportunity that gave him the chance to fully develop his game.
“I thought a lot. Probably the leading run-getter in the game, Sachin Tendulkar, most centuries, most bowl wins, most wins and most world cups,” Hussain said.
“And unfortunately I woke up in the morning and it was just a dream. I would have loved an opportunity, but the good thing for me was a great understanding of my game,” he said.

Michael Huseyin had a first-class career of over 23,000 runs, including 61 overs with 61 centuries in 273 matches. A strong Australian line-up in the late 1990s and early 2000s delayed his international debut until the age of 28.
Sachin Tendulkar, 15,921 per cent and 18,426, 18,426 runs dominated tests and ODIS. Husey managed 22,235 Test runs and 5,442 in ODIS with 22 centuries compared to Tendulkar’s 100.
Hussain scored 10 against Sachin Tendulkar in T20IS, 721 runs, Tendulkar’s only appearance. His late start may limit his statistical legacy, but his consistency and impact remain undeniable.
Australia secure a seven-wicket win in the first ODI in Perth
Australia secured a seven-wicket victory over India in the first ODI of the three-match stadium at the Optus Stadium on Sunday, October 19. The Mitchell Marsh-Led team took a 1-0 lead.
Australia packed their bowl after the toss. Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood dismantled India’s top order with their new batting attack. Rohit Sharma (8), Virat Kohli (0) and Shubman Gill (10) fell within 8.1 overs, leaving India struggling at 25/3.
A rain cut reduced the match to 26 overs and Kl Rahul (38) and Axar Patel (31) helped India post 136/9. Josh Hazlewood, Mitchell Owen and Matthew Kuhnemann took two wickets each for Australia.
In reply, Math Philippe (37) and Matt Renshaw (21*) added key runs, with 52 off 36 balls in the swamp. They completed the victory on the 21st. The second ODI will be played at the Adelaide Oval on October 23.
