After years of consistently selling out, the Australian event will return next year on May 17-18.
The Great Ocean Road Running Festival will return in 2025 with a weekend-long celebration of running, music and wellness taking place in Lorne and Apollo Bay.
After a sell-out year in 2024, the festival will return on May 17-18, 2025, with eight distances to choose from. From a 60km ultra marathon to a 1.5km kids’ hike, roads to trails, walks to runs. there is an event for everyone.
During the ultramarathon, athletes will head inland through a thriving forest before returning to glorious ocean views. Driving such a unique and breathtaking 60 km journey under your own power is simply one of the strongest feelings.
Last year’s race winners James Rigg took the men’s crown in 3:56:41 and Grace Tame won the women’s race in 4:43:43.

The marathon (44 km) will allow you to see surreal views and stunning landscapes as you wind along the wild and windswept Southern Ocean.
Starting in Lorne, try to spot koalas as you make your way down the Great Ocean Road via the River Wye, River Kennet and Skenes Creek before finishing at Apollo Bay.
Germany’s Johannes Motschmann won the 2023 men’s race (2:36:35) and Miriam Dowie won the women’s race (3:04:24).
In addition to running events, the festival boasts a lively atmosphere with live music, yoga sessions, glamping and family-friendly activities. There’s something for the whole family at the Great Ocean Road Running Festival.
