Coach Buddy McGirt says he disagrees with the close scores filed for the Canelo Alvarez against Terence Crawford Fight on September 13 in Las Vegas.
McGirt explodes “unfair” judgment
Buddy mentions that Crawford (42-0, 31 COs) dominated from start to finish, and believes that the two judges who achieved the battle at 115-113 should take their licenses. The judges do not appear to be captivated with all the moving Crawford throughout the fight.
His movement created the impression that he was running from the undisputed super-middleweight champion Canelo (63-3-2, 39 COs). There was no other way to see it differently, except that Crawford avoided contact and did not dominate.
Did Crawford run from Canelo?
The fight looks like a classic definition of a Tom and Jerry style match for the first eight rounds, and even on points in the championships. Canelo did the chase, and Crawford did the run. It was easy to understand why the two judges scored the battle close, because if you chased a runner -up by a champion, how do you give the person’s rounds?
“I heard that Terence had to win the last two rounds. What battle did they look at? ‘ said the coach ‘Buddy’ McGirt Millcity BoxingTalk about the two judges who filed 115-113 scores for the Canelo Alvarez against Terence Crawford match.
A call for judges’ licenses
“For such situations, they must ask them,” Enter a license “, because there is no way the battle was so close. It’s not fair, ‘McGirt said of the judges.
I personally think that these two judges should be praised for their fine performances in their standings, as in the closest to how the fight played. If they were in the military, I would recommend that they get a promotion and or ribbon of honor for the fine scores they drew in.
Crawford ran just eight of the twelve rounds around the ring and looked like a person chased by an angry dog. It was incredible. He received $ 50 million from Turki Alalshikh, which is the type of effort he has turned on. What a disappointment. Canelo was the aggressor throughout and at least tried to earn the $ 150 million he paid.
The case for an 114-114 draw
For me, the battle was a draw of 114-114. Thus, the 115-113 scores that the two judges moved in were the closest to the reality of what happened in the ring.
“You get a man like Terence who dominates from start to finish, then you realize he needs the last two rounds to win,” McGirt says.
Canelo’s aggression against Crawford’s movement
There was no dominance of Crawford. It was a close battle for the first eight rounds, with Canelo attacking a brilliant, frightening, constantly moving Crawford. Alvarez landed loud body shots and just hit with Jabs. I scored six of the first eight rounds to Canelo because of its aggression and body shots.
In the championships, nine to twelve, Crawford became the better of Alvarez with his counterpart. There were two short flames of Bud in rounds nine and twelve. Unlike that, it was cautious things from Crawford against a tired Canelo in the last four rounds.
As such, I recorded the battle as a draw. It was no dominance again, and the two judges who achieved it 115-113 gave in my opinion the clearest image of the three in the outcome. When I go into battle, I had no preference for who won. It doesn’t matter to me, but I just saw it as a draw and wasn’t impressed with Crawford or Canelo.
Crawford’s disappointing show
None of the battle worthy of the hype for the hype or the wallets of $ 200 million that divided them between them. It was more like a fight between fighters earning $ 50 thousand. It was a low-level performance and disappointing, given all the hype around them. The right battle on the map that stole the show was the Christian Mbilli against Lester Martinez Undercard Clash, which I think should have been the co-function.
McGirt’s advice: Avoid Jake Paul
Buddy recommends that Canelo does not take “easy battles” against Jake Paul until he retires. He argues that Alvarez must retire by losing against ‘the best’ rather than fighting against Jake.
McGirt believes that fans will give Canelo credit if they note that his last fight before retirement was a loss of Crawford, rather than going against Paul. He mentions that Alvarez has done too much work in his career to ride the type of battle in the sunset.
More money grabs than superfight?
I don’t agree with Buddy. The money and the attention that Canelo would fight Jake Paul makes it worthwhile. I believe it will darken the $ 150 million he received from his so -called Super Fight against Crawford. The struggle was essentially a gimmick, circus-level money grab, which in my opinion had nothing to do with sports.
Crawford did not deserve the battle by facing the top contenders, Osleys Iglesias and Christian Mbilli, to challenge Canelo. If Terence had to fight one of them to earn his lap, I think he would have been weeds.
In a real sport, you are supposed to earn the shot at the championship by going through the playoffs. In boxing you fight against the top contenders. Crawford was allowed to bypass the process, which made the competition-like or circus-like, regardless of the name you would like to call it.
It was about money and not different from what a match between Canelo and Jake Paul would be about. It’s business, not sports.
