Crawford Walks From Jake Paul Fight, Wanted Canelo Money

Trainer Bernie ‘Tha Boxer’ Davis says Terence Crawford “rejected” an offer to fight Jake Paul. He says they are not going “pay him enough,” which was $100 million.

That’s the same $100 million that Bernie says Crawford wants for the rematch with Canelo Alvarez. He doesn’t say how much Jake offered Paul Crawford, but it wasn’t enough to get him to agree.

Paul fights Anthony Joshua on December 19. He reportedly gets $80 million for the fight. If Crawford is offered a similar amount, it would show how much his price tag has risen since earning $50 million for his victory over undisputed super middleweight champion Canelo on September 13, 2025.

“He told me he turned it down. I don’t think they want to pay him enough,” coach Bernie Davis said MillCity Boxing about Terence Crawford turning down a fight against Jake Paul.

“It’s $100 (million). They’re definitely not going to pay him a 100 to get his a** hoped for, because Crawford doesn’t know how to play a role. He doesn’t know how to play no script. He doesn’t know how to do any of that. So, Jake Paul will get his a** beat,” Davis said of Team Paul.

Crawford’s fight against Canelo brought in 41,400,000 views on Netflix, but you could argue that was because of the Mexican star.

“So, if they want to come up with the $100 million, fine. They didn’t want to come up. So, at the same time, you got a guy like Bud Crawford. You’re trying to rush him into it. Why? He’s not going to do it. Who do you think you are? I just beat Canelo’s a**,” Bernie says.

Crawford is going to miss out on a lot of nice paydays if he insists on $100 million for him to fight because he’s not a big enough draw without Canelo. Jake Paul would be the one bringing in the fans, not Crawford.

“I’m pumped up. I’m doing my world tour right now. I’m not going to go down, no clown, no circus s***. I’m beating (fighters) for real. I’m not going to do that. I’m still chilling. Come on. I’m not saying it was disrespectful to Crawford. He’s a huge boxing name in the box. For them during the time to try to squeeze it in at this short time,” Davis said.
