Terence Crawford praised Devin Haney after his win over WBO welterweight champion Brian Norman Jr. last Saturday night, and said that he “Shut up a lot of people again.”

Fans aren’t buying it
Fans on social media are questioning Crawford about what he saw in Haney’s performance that made him think he silenced someone. He looked worse than the night beforer, holds up all night, looks afraid of getting hit, and only throws 70 punches in the entire fight.
Some of the comments from fans toasting Haney’s performance:
- “Sounds off his a**.”
- “Shut up with that lame s***”
- “Let’s not lie, boring to watch.”
- “He fought the same as always. Push and run.”
- “Hugs all night. Come on.”
Haney (33-0, 15 KOs) won a 12-round unanimous decision over a scrappy, tight-looking Norman Jr. (28-1, 22 KOs) at the Ring IV event at the ANB Arena in Riyadh.
Why it didn’t silence anyone
It wasn’t the type of action that quieted anyone in terms of the fans who criticized Haney for being shell-shocked, gun-shy and afraid of getting hit, as he looked just as horrified vs. Norman Jr. as in his previous abysmal performance against Jose Ramirez on May 2, 2025. There is no improvement in Haney’s morale level.
All that crap you talked about @Realdevinhaney and he went there and shut up many people again.

Clinch-first fight again
The problem with Crawford supporting Haney and making it look like he was being spectacular is that people saw the actual fight. They saw Haney holding on all night, dive forward to clinch without even trying to throw a punch Crawford’s post would be more powerful if fans weren’t watching.
Bill Haney’s Spin Job
“We always said he had the best jab in the business. You should see him kick him with the jab,” Bill Haney said. Seconds outtalk about Devin Haney taking some jabs at Brian Norman Jr.
The swelling in Norman Jr. ‘s right eye was from a head collision, not from Haney’s stab. There is no break up involved in the fight. It was a clash of heads, not much else, from Devin. He landed just 70 punches in the entire 12-round fight, matching the low number he turned in against Jose Ramirez last May.
“I always said he had the best feet,” Bill said of Devin. “He’s a remarkable young man, and I can’t say enough about him.”
