David Banavidez believes that Terence Crawford has a 70% chance of defeating Canelo Alvarez in September when they meet at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. Benavidez says Crawford (41-0, 31 COs) knew he was going to fight Canelo (62-2-2, 39 COs) for a ‘long time’ and striking the weights to put on size.

He feels that with Crawford’s IQ and the size he uses, he can injure Canelo several times to win. The weight of Crawford is perhaps one of the reasons he was chosen not to take a vote before September.
If he fought, he would have to fight 160 and 168. It would be risky for Crawford to stand from a solid opponent, and any decent contender would be a threat at his age and guys fight with power he has never experienced. So, he will play it safely by waiting until September before fighting.
A 70% chance?
“I don’t want to look like a hater. I am blessed and I have my position here. So, I’m in a big position too. I am happy for Crawford that he can get such a big fight too, ”David Banavidez told Ariel Helwani channelTalk about Terence Crawford who was selected in Las Vegas on September 13 to fight Canelo Alvarez.
“I give him a 7 out of 10,” Banavidez said when asked how much chance he gave Crawford to defeat Canelo. ‘Crawford is good, and he knows he has been fighting for a long time. Crawford likes to gain the weight. I’m sure he has been working on the weight for a long time.
“So with Crawford if someone has such a big IQ, if you do enough weights and work for a long time, and you have a puncher’s chance. You can definitely make the other man uncomfortable and hurt him a few times. Crawford is a very good fighter. I wouldn’t be surprised if he wins, ”says Benavidez.
Hate Benavidez on Canelo?
It is unknown whether benavidez has an ax to hone against Canelo, which is why he gives Crawford a good chance to hit him.
It would not be surprising to learn that benavidez does not think that Crawford can win, but says he cannot like Canelo because he never gave him the chance to fight him all these years. It should burn him and see that Crawford has the opportunity to fight Canelo, even if he fights against two divisions under him at 154.
