Nigel Benn says IBF Super Middleweight Champion William Scull stopped in a sparring session with Conor Benn before the eighth round. He says Scull got tired by the fourth round.
Nigel says Scull (23-0, 9 COs) was too tired to come out for the eighth because of the fast pace Conor set him in rounds 4. He says Conor raised the pace after fourth place, which made Scull disappear quickly until he chose not to continue to the seven round.
Canelo’s easy struggle?
Now it all makes sense about why WBA, WBC and WBO Super Middleweight Champion Canelo Alvarez are so eager to fight. If he was fighting at the level of David Banavidez or David Morrell, this battle would probably not take place on May 3. Canelo is very strategic in whom he is fighting.
It is credible what Benn says about William Scull, 32, and he stopped against Conor, because on October 19 in Germany he looked terribly bad in his last battle against Vladimir Shishkin and won a controversial unanimous 12 round decision. Many boxing fans who watched the fight won Shishkin. I saw the fight and Shishkin won 10-2. It was an embarrassment that had the battle by the judges.
Given how poor Scull looked like in his last battle, what Nigel says he stops to stop. If Conor Benn was in the ring in October last year instead of Shishkin, he would probably have stopped.
“I’m telling you the truth. He rubbed and about five he said, “Oh no, I need a minute. “After that, about four or five, you can all ask, he sat down on the ring rope because he was tired,” Nigel Benn said ifl tvTalk about William Scull to his son, Conor Benn.
“It comes at about five, six and seven, he started to feel the pace. I’m not telling you a lie, and about eight Conor put it on him. What does he do? He stopped spearing. Conor put it on him. He couldn’t even come out for the eighth round, ‘Nigel says about Scull.
