Conor Benn says he’s “cleared up”, wants tank, haney and boots

Conor Benn took to social media to say he was “cleared of any wrongdoing” by the National Anti-Doping Panel for his positive tests and called out Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis, Devin Haney and Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis for a fight.

Many fans stopped caring about Benn’s career a long time ago, so this news that he has been “deleted” by the NADP doesn’t mean much. He will still make good coin to Chris Eubank Jr. to fight, but his chances of getting Tank, Haney or Ennis are slim.

In Haney’s case, he might be open to a fight against Benn because his career is about to be over. Benn would be a life preserver thrown to him to keep him going for a while before he finally sinks.

Conor’s career was going well until he tested positive for a banned substance in September 2022. The positive test derailed Benn’s fight against Chris Eubank Jr., which was scheduled for October of that year and would have brought in millions for both fighters.

There was a lot of interest in Benn’s career at the time after he beat some older fringe fighters Chris Algieri, Adrian Granados and Chris Van Heerden.

Benn (23-0, 14 KOs) has little chance of getting any of those fighters to take him up on his offer because he’s not world class. The 28-year-old Benn, the son of famous former world champion Nigel Benn, is more of a prospect, and a British-level one at that.

Conor’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, will likely target him with a domestic bout against Chris Eubank Jr. setting up for a fight in Riyadh or the UK for the UK fans to enjoy. Eubank Jr. is the same kind of fighter as Benn. Neither guy beat top fighters in their careers, but they made good money being the kids of famous guys.
