Fresh a dazzling performance in the Club World Cup final, where he twice marked Chelsea to raise the trophy: Cole Palmer paused well.
But instead of heading to a beach complex, the growing star made a journey that meant much more: his first visit to St Kitts, the Caribbean Island where his paternal grandfather was born.
The trip, documented by BBC Sport, It was a powerful personal time for the International of England, which proudly carries the flag of St Kitts and snowfall in his boots. He visited his grandfather’s old house with his family, calling -a “special” experience.
But it was not just a trip through the memory lane. The love of the locals was just as heart.
“The best footballer in the world,” said a young fan, while another added, “Left Foot better than Messi. Tell the truth, Messi has to go back to the bench.”
To complete it, Palmer hit the water in a jet Ski, blinking a smile while burned by the Caribbean Sea, relaxed, at home and enjoying clearly every second.
“It has been nice, obviously, to see all young children and all the other people,” Palmer said in his underground style.
