Cole Palmer learns the fate of the Ballon d’Or after a spectacular year


Chelsea superstar Cole Palmer has finished 25th in the 2024 Ballon d’Or rankings.

England and Chelsea Star Palmer has taken the football world by storm over the past two campaigns, scoring 27 goals in 48 games for the Blues in 2023/24. His success earned him a place in Gareth Southgate’s Euro 2024 squad, with the 22-year-old featuring in five games for Germany, including the all-important final.

Palmer’s success for both club and country saw him receive a nomination for the most coveted individual award in football – the Ballon d’Or.

While Real Madrid star Vinicius Junior and Manchester City hero Rodri seems more likely to get the top prize During Monday evening’s ceremony in Paris, Palmer was celebrated for his consistent performances, ranking 25th on the official Ballon d’Or shortlist.

His immense performances for the Blues have continued throughout the 2024/25 campaign, scoring seven goals in just 11 appearances so far. Palmer showed his true skill and ability during Chelsea’s Premier League clash with Brighton & Hove Albion in September, during which he scored four goals in the first half of their 4-2 victory.

Palmer has also come to life under new manager Enzo Maresca, who sees him as a vital part of Chelsea’s current squad.

The young midfielder already has a Champions League trophy and two Premier League titles to his name – from his time at Manchester City – but has shown he is capable of even greater greatness.
