About the featured photo.

The history of the presented photo. Bill Rogers won the New York City Marathon in 1976, 1977, 1978 and 1979. In 1976, Bill Rogers told me this story on a Thursday night. Bill was smiling as his car was pulled as he won the New York City Marathon in 1976. Race director Fred LeBow had to use his Romanian charm to free the car and then pay Bill Rogers’ bill. Ah, good memories. “Fred Lebow was a good guy, he did a lot for the sport.”
