Coffee with Larry went to Chicago, Illinois last week courtesy of #NIKERunning.
Our topics:
1. The elite men’s and women’s races were compelling. Jacob Kiplimo dominated the men’s race with a PB of 2:02:43 while Havi Feisa ran a PB of 2:14:56.
2. Top Americans: Connor Mantz was 4th with a PB of 2:04:43 and Natosha Rogers was 6th with a PB of 2:23:28.
3. Connor Mantz broke the 23-year-old American record held by Khalid Khannoushi since 2002 of 2:05:38, then a world record. Khalid won in Chicago in 1997, 1999, 2000 and 2002.
4. We’re off to the 2025 New York City Marathon in two weeks. We will be working with a new partner, FurnishedQuarters.com, more on that later.
5. NXN has regionals on November 9th and November 22nd with finals on December 6th, 2025. Check it out www.NIKECrossNationals.com or https://nxn.runnerspace.com/ !
6. Brooks XC Nationals presented by #FleetFeet has announced a streaming deal with #FloTrack , details to come, regionals on Nov 29th and Dec 6th and Nationals on Dec 14th. Remember that 20 athletes will receive #GoldenTickets. https://www.fleetfeet.com/cross-country-championship !
7. #RunBlogRun will be working with Pace Events on two of their events: the #DubaiMarathon on 1 February 2025, www.dubaimarathon.org . #RAK HalfMarathon will be held on February 14, 2025. www.RaKHalfMarathon.com !
