Coach Abel Sanchez says 46-year-old Manny Pacquiao will defeat WBA Welterweight Champion Rolando ‘Rolly’ Romero if the competition takes place next. Sanchez believes that Pacquiao (62-8-3, 39 COs) Romero (17-2, 13 COs) will eliminate and confuse him.

Like many fans, Abel believes that 46-year-old Pacquiao can still knock fighters out of this era. He based his opinion exclusively on the Barrios battle, who was not a real measure of the top fighters at Welterweight.
Barrios showed his limitations in his last fight against travel man Abel Ramos, when he made a decision. Mario was elevated to his WBC title outside the ring in 2024. In his two fights as champion, he had a few draws against Ramos and Pacquiao.
Rolly is far from a big fighter, and is likely to lose many of the top 10 contenders in the 147 pound division. But he still has more than enough to beat out Pacquiao or hit him badly. He won’t do it like Barrios.
Garcia’s stagnation discussed
