Rohit Sharma did not have a great game as the captain of Team India in the first Test against New Zealand. The hosts suffered a disappointing 8-wicket loss against the Kiwis and the visitors registered their first win on Indian soil in 36 years.

Rohit also underperformed as a player. He couldn’t get going with the bat in the first innings and dropped a couple of catches as well. Despite playing an innings of 52 runs in the second innings, it was not enough as India conceded a huge lead of 356 runs, the highest by New Zealand in India.
Rohit will now look to make a strong comeback in the second Test. The captain himself came to attend the press conference and took the blame. He would be hoping to lead from the front and help the Team right the streak.
