‘Chota Cheeku’ moment goes viral as Virat Kohli meets young doppelganger – IND vs NZ



In a moment that feels more like a “matrix glitch” than a standard fan interaction, Virat Kohli He came face to face with his childhood doppelganger ahead of the recently concluded first ODI between India and New Zealand at the Kotambi Stadium. An uncanny resemblance between the former Indian captain and an 8-year-old boy Garvit Uttam has since sent social media into a frenzy, with Kohli himself the laughing stock.

A shout that caught Virat Kohli’s attention

In a new viral interview, a young fan spoke about the interaction and confirmed that Kohli not only acknowledged the resemblance but also gave him a new nickname. Recalling the incident, Garvit revealed that he did not do anything unusual to attract Kohli’s attention. For this, the name of his idol had to be called only once. Surprised, Kohli immediately turned around and looked in his direction, a moment that made the young fan freeze with excitement.

According to Garvit, Kohli left, greeted him warmly and assured him that he would be back after the practice. True to his word, the former India captain bounced back, but not before sharing a laugh with his teammates about the uncanny resemblance.

“I like Kohli’s style and aura. I just shouted his name once and he looked at me. He came and said hello and said he’ll be back in a bit.” Garvit said in a viral video shared on X.

When Kohli called his young fan “Chota Chiku”.

Garvit revealed that Kohli first pointed him to the star Indian opener Rohit Sharmajokingly said that his “duplicate” was sitting in the tribune. The lighthearted remark quickly brought smiles to the Indian camp and perfectly summed up Kohli’s relaxed mood during the session.

When Kohli finally approached the young fan, he affectionately called him ‘Chhota Cheeku’, a nod to his childhood nickname Cheeku. The interaction soon turned into an unforgettable encounter, complete with autographs, photos and shared laughs.

“Then he went to Rohit Sharma and told him, ‘there’s my duplicate there’. He called me chhota cheeku.” Garvit added.

The day was even more special for Garvit as he got a chance to meet several Indian cricketers at once. Apart from Kohli and Rohit Sharma, the young fan also interacted with him KL Rahul and Arshdeep Singhticking off a dream list that many fans only dream of.

“Met KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, Arshdeep Singh and Rohit Sharma” added young Garvit.
