Chelsea have enjoyed an impressive start to life under new manager Enzo Maresca, with many of their star players finding form for the start of the 2024/25 season.
This form led to a very strong September for the club in which they won four of their five games in all competitions, scoring 14 goals in the process.
Based on a survey 90 minutes carried out in our dedicated Chelsea fan WhatsApp channel (link to follow below), more than 96,000 fans have made it clear their candidate for the club’s player of the month for September.
2,173 of the votes in our poll went to the ‘other’ category, but who are these ‘others’?
Well, let’s assume one is Mr. Christopher Nkunku who, despite not starting in the Premier League, has made the most of his minutes in other competitions – netting a hat-trick in the Carabao Cup win over Barrow.
Another rotation player, Pedro Neto He has also caught the eye with his performances in cup competitions, leading to many Chelsea fans calling for the wide forward to become a regular starter ahead of Noni Madueke.
porter Robert Sanchez He also deserves a mention for his penalty save against Bournemouth, one of his seven saves in the 1-0 win.
In terms of players who actually got votes, we came in fourth Moises Caicedo who counted 3,798. Thanks to his £115m price tag, Moises Caicedo was a fairly easy target for the boo boys last season. This season under new manager Enzo Maresca, however, Chelsea fans are beginning to see exactly why their club spent so much money to sign the midfielder.
Caicedo was pretty fantastic throughout September, winning a pretty outrageous 36 duels in just four games during the month.
Third, we had 5,493 for Nicholas Jackson who, say what you will about him, but he scores bloody goals. That’s exactly what he did in September, scoring three goals in four games, as well as adding two assists.
His tally for the season now stands at seven goals in seven Premier League appearances That’s pretty cool if you ask us.
And right before Jackson we had one Jadon Sanchothat accumulated 6,365 total votes The wide forward, on loan from Man Utd once again, has been fantastic since moving to Stamford Bridge.
After making an immediate impact on his debut against Bournemouth – setting up the winning goal – Sancho hasn’t really looked back, becoming a key creative component of Maresca’s front line.
Cole Palmer received 80,954 of the total votes.
So yes, this poll was a complete landslide.
And it should have been, because Cole Palmer is the best player in the Premier League right now.
He proved this with one of the best performances in the league’s modern history against Brighton at the end of September, scoring four goals in the space of 20 minutes in the first half to earn his side a 4-2 win. He is too good.
