Chelsea produced a merciless FA Cup performance, dismantling Port Vale 7-0 at Stamford Bridge with a goalscoring masterclass.

Premier League giants Chelsea welcome League One rivals Port Vale for this much-anticipated FA Cup tie on 4 April 2026. The visitors had dreams of a famous cup upset, but Chelsea, keen to make a deep run in the competition, showed no mercy from the start.

The Blues asserted their dominance almost immediately. Young defender Jorrel Hato opened the scoring in just the second minute, guiding the ball home to give Chelsea the perfect start. That first goal set the tone for a one-sided affair.

Chelsea continued to press and their efforts paid off again in the 25th minute. Striker Joao Pedro confidently slotted home, assisted by the creative Pedro Neto, who doubled the lead and further dashed Port Vale’s hopes of a comeback.

Port Vale’s struggles were compounded by M. Sherif’s 33rd minute booking for a challenge. Just before the break, Chelsea extended their lead to three goals. Unfortunately, J. Lawrence-Gabriel turned the ball into his own net in the 42nd minute, leaving Port Vale with a monumental task.

At half-time, Chelsea had a huge three-goal lead. The second half promised more attacking football from the home side as Port Vale faced the challenge of regaining their pride.

The second period began with Chelsea maintaining their relentless pressure. Center back Tosin Adarabioyo headed in Chelsea’s fourth goal in the 57th minute, following a well-taken cross from Malo Gusto. Managerial decisions soon followed as both teams made multiple substitutions around the hour mark.

Chelsea’s youth talent continued to shine. Midfielder Andrey Santos added his name to the scoreboard in the 69th minute, calmly finishing a move orchestrated by Estevao. The constant waves of attack proved too much for the beleaguered Port Vale defence.

Estevao then became the goalscorer, scoring Chelsea’s sixth goal in the 82nd minute with a composed finish. The thrashing was completed in stoppage time, when Alejandro Garnacho converted a penalty in the 90th+2nd minute to secure a memorable 7-0 win for the home team.

Chelsea dominated all aspects of the game, with 77% possession throughout the match. They registered 20 shots, of which 11 were on target, compared to Port Vale’s zero shots on target in four attempts. This underlined the immense gulf between the two teams.

This emphatic FA Cup win propels Chelsea into the next round of the competition with a major boost. The performance showcased the team’s depth and attacking prowess, sending a clear message to future opponents in their quest for silverware.
