Chelsea vs Noah: Preview, Predictions and Lineups

Chelsea will face an Armenian side for the first time in their history on Thursday evening when they host FC Noah in the Europa Conference League.

The Blues return to European action after a difficult few weeks. Since their 4-1 demolition of Panathinaikosthey have faced Newcastle United home and away – winning at Stamford Bridge and losing on the road – and visiting Manchester United. His showdown with Noah is followed by an enticing match with London rivals Arsenal.

Currently, Enzo Maresca’s team leads the table League of Conferences after winning their first two matches. The big-scoring wins see them move into top spot on goal difference and are likely to add significantly to the eight goals they scored on Thursday evening.

Noah, which was only founded in 2017, can be proud of its European campaign so far. In the league stage, they have already beaten Mlada Boleslav before falling to a 1-0 defeat at Rapid Wien last time out. However, a trip to Stamford Bridge is an entirely different proposition.

Maresca has revealed this star performer Cole Palmer is a doubt ahead of Sunday’s matchup with Arsenal in the Premier League. The England international is not named in the Conference League squad and would have earned a rest on Thursday regardless.

Jadon Sancho, who missed the return leg at Old Trafford on Sundayhe is also a doubt for the visit of Arsenal as he recovers from illness and is dealing with a knock picked up in training.

Maresca have made wholesale changes and used their second-string XI for the Conference League and will do the same on Thursday evening. The likes of Mykhailo Mudryk, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Joao Felix and Christopher Nkunku are likely to make the squad.

Chelsea predicted line-up against Noah (4-2-3-1): Jorgensen; Veiga, Tirs, Badiashile, Cucurella; Dewsbury-Hall, Fernandez; George, Felix, Mudrick; Nkunku.

Noah doesn’t have many familiar faces to Chelsea fans, but they do have a wealth of exciting talent from across Europe and South America in their ranks. Portuguese striker Goncalo Gregorio is their flashy striker with 12 goals in 18 games this season.

On the injury front, Iceland left-back Gudmundur Thorarinsson and Slovakian midfielder Martin Gambos are currently the absent players for the Armenian side.

Noah predicted the line-up against Chelsea (4-3-3): Cancarevic; Mendoza, Silva, Mouradian, Hambardzumyan; Eteki, Omar, Sangare; Helder, Gregorio, Pinson

Chelsea have often called upon their remarkably deep squad this season and will do so again for Noah’s visit. The underdogs Armenians will do well to keep the score low at Stamford Bridge, with Chelsea’s alternative eleven boasting an absurd amount of talent.

Having gone four to Gent and Panathinaikos in Europe, the Blues could improve on that tally this Thursday in what will be the most important game in Noah’s seven-year history.

Prediction: Chelsea 5-0 Noah
