Stamford Bridge hosts an all-London affair on Sunday evening as Chelsea take on surprise entertainers Brentford.
Chelsea are close to Enzo Maresca, with their win at Tottenham last weekend lifting them into second place in the Premier League table. The Blues are now just five points behind Liverpool, who drew with Fulham on Saturday to temporarily level things in the Games Played column.
Maresca’s side have not lost since October 30, and their unbeaten streak in all competitions extended to nine games this Thursday. defeated Astana 3-1 in Kazakhstan.
The hosts are looking for their first win over their west London rivals since December 2021 on Sunday.
Brentford, despite losing Ivan Toney in the summer, have shone at times this season and have been excellent at home. In fact, no team has accumulated more points at home in the Premier League than Thomas Frank’s bees, but have only accumulated one point in their travels.
Their road problems mean they sit ninth in the table, but a short distance from the European places.

Those who featured in Kazakhstan on Thursday are unlikely to play a part here, with Maresca set to name a similar XI from last Sunday’s triumph at Tottenham.
Noni Madueke will replace the suspended Pedro Neto on the right, while the inclusion of Malo Gusto should force Moises Caicedo into midfield at the expense of Romeo Lavia. Lavia retired at the break at N17.
Reece James and Wesley Fofana are both out with hamstring injuries, while Mykhailo Mudryk is a doubt through illness.

The visitors’ injury list remains extensive, with Vitaly Janelt the latest out. The midfielder is a doubt for Sunday’s game for once. Rico Henry, Aaron Hickey, Mathias Jensen and Josh Dasilva are out.
