Marc Cucurella, Chelsea’s left back immediately changed his boots after Tottenham went 2-0 up in today’s big Premier League London derby.
Overall, Cucurella has improved a lot this season, with the Blues side looking their best since Enzo Maresca took over as manager in the summer.
The Spain international is capable of being a top player on his day, but Nizaar Kinsella noticed his problems at the start of this Spurs game, with early goals from Dominic Solanke and Dejan Kulusevski putting Chelsea in serious trouble.
PL club ready to move as Chelsea decide on SURPRISE sale!
Jadon Sancho pulled a goal back for the visitors but they are still behind at the time of writing and Cucurella’s mistakes are a big part of that…
Kulusevski 2-0. Another error of Cucurella in the construction. Chelsea are being physically harassed and Cucurella changes his boots immediately.

So far, this change seems to have worked as Cucurella has not fallen again, although there is still a long way to go in this match, and the conditions are not ideal after so much rain.
Chelsea fans will be hoping to see the best of Cucurella in the rest of this game as Sancho’s goal perhaps gives them hope of a comeback, provided they can keep things at the back and not concede any more goals.
Is Marc Cucurella good enough for Chelsea?

Some CFC fans may be worried, however, that they are seeing this from Cucurella in a big game as it will confirm some of their worst suspicions about the former Brighton man.
Even though Cucurella has been better than last season, many Chelsea fans would probably still watch that slot on the left side as an area where they could improve.
It would be unfair to draw conclusions like this based on a miserable first half here at Tottenham, who were always going to be a difficult game, but it will be interesting to see if it becomes an area the west London club look at in the transfer window. market
