Ever since the Todd Boehly-led consortium completed their £4.25 billion takeover of Chelsea in 2022, things have been tough for Blues fans, but Enzo Maresca seems to be guiding the current team in the right direction correct
The Italian manager arrived in Chelsea’s mess in the summer when the Premier League giants successfully lured the former Leicester City manager away from the King Power Stadium to replace Mauricio Pochettino.
During his first meeting with the club, Maresca told the West London side’s board that they had put together a strong squad at Stamford Bridge, which is exactly what they would have wanted to hear as they looked for a manager to operate in their framework
“When I first met the club, the first thing I said was whether you’re going to pick me as manager or not, for the next five/ten years, because of the squad and the age of the players, you’re going to dominate football English”, admitted the Italian via Fabrizio Romano.
The current Blues team seem to be enjoying working under their new boss and that is being translated onto the pitch.

What can Enzo Maresca achieve at Chelsea?
There were plenty of questions surrounding Maresca before he even kicked a ball this summer, but the Italian showed what he’s made of when throwing great players like Raheem Sterling and Ben Chilwell into the side at Stamford Bridge.
The 44-year-old has shown he has character and it shows within his team as the Blues have been fun to watch during the opening phase of the 2024/25 campaign, which has also translated into results as the West London outfit currently sit fifth in the Premier League, which will look different after Sunday’s games.
Maresca could be a huge success at Chelsea in the coming years if given time, as the former Leicester City manager seems to know what he is doing with the young squad he is currently overseeing.
